Eventually my noodle will become a man, and he's going to need a large large large tank (silver arowana)
So my question here, is who's your favorite large "tank maker"?
I'm in north Florida, so if I can pick it up that would be ideal/ free shipping would be better, lol.
I'm looking for a tank, a stand, and a canopy, for relatively cheap. (yeah. I know. It's not going to end up being anybody's idea of cheap)
I'm looking for a 300 gallon, wonky size, as in wide, for tiny nugget to be able to turn around in easily. I'd LOVE to keep it under 1500 for the whole set up if at all possible. I have all the appropriate filtration and that jazz.
Thanks, everybody.

Your silver arrowana is going to quickly out grow a 300g tank. If your budget is $1,500 you are going to have to go used or DIY via plywood.

I just ordered my acrylic tank from fishtanksdirect. They are in florida. I will be receiving it in 3-4 weeks. A number of members have spoken highly of them. They were the cheapest acrylic tank manufacturer I could find that was recommended.

Mind me asking what size and price?

Also- id be down with used, except you can’t find them in the size I need. What is this plywood thing people talk about? I want a front viewing window, is that possible with plywood??

Go to the DIY forum and you will see how folks built plywood tanks with a front viewing panel.

Go to fishtanksdirect.com. They put all of their pricing online for standard tanks essentially.

I want that too! The 180 I have now with stand, canopy and tank new would be over $3000. Tank alone $1100. The pentairaes are nice. I was looking at the 96×36 somehing or other I think it was 700g $2000 that would be a great way to go. Not sure if going plywood would be any cheeper in that size. Glass for the viewing panel seems to be alot of the cost on those builds. Was researching building my own wood was around 300 then epoxy was another 300 -400 a piece of glass for a 30" depth 3/4" was 1200! 24" 1/2" was 900 @7' long. Then all that work....... those prices didn't include a stand or canopy or 100ish for screws. + whatever else would be needed.

I think 1500 is asking alot. You are going to need to pad the budget a bit. ×2 at least. Or get lucky with used.
