125 Predator Tank: Stock Ideas?

Just make sure the bichirs are large enough not to get outgrown by the quicker growing cichlids, and made into a meal. Also, I have heard of some cichilds being aggressive to bichirs. But I kept a large ornatipinnis with different CA such as amphilophus and vieja, for years with no problems, In a 6 foot tank as well. Most of the time I believe the two ignore each other.

Do you think I would be able to do a Green Terror? I know they can be really aggressive, (hence the name) but would they bother the Bichir?

Green terrors are not that agressive (ime, and objectively compared to cichlids like festae, jags, rd, etc). If the bichir is decently bigger than the green terror I don’t think there would be a problem.

Of course monitor and watch for any issues

Green terror would be a good choice IMO. They are actually not all that terrible when compared to most CA cichlids.

I think my stock will consist of 1 GT and a couple of Bichirs. Thanks for your suggestions.

Dont forget some sweet dithers with a tank that size. Congo tetras or silver dollars could be nice. Maybe even some larger rainbowfish like reds or turquoise.

GT is always a good choice though.

Nah your good man. Just add the cichlid last just to be safe. Don't want him to establish territories before the other fish.

I have a pearsei thats givene issues with almost every fish he's been with except bichirs. Always if ignored them.

Mostly Palmas/Delhezi. I’ve always liked those.

Mokelembenbei (forgot how to spell it) are really nice. Polli are said to be very active. You can't go wrong with Del's though.

Thanks, I haven’t kept Bichir yet but I’ve always wanted to. I want a decently active fish. I really like the look of the Del’s/Polli.
