Anyone here like using small set ups with 2-4lb line? I find that I use my Shakespeare microlite spinning reel, 5' rod, with 2lb test mostly. No matter what I hook puts up a fight. Mostly panfish, but I pulled in a 14" mudfish, 12" gar, and about a 3lb bass last summer. I see Walmart has a small zebco with 2lb line that I may end up getting.

Feel free to post your lite setups or catches. I haven't been out this summer, since the rain has been non-stop, everythings been flooded.

I don't really do ultralight anymore,but when I did I used a collapsible golden rod(forgot what it's called),

Have you ever just got a spool of line and a lure? A fun way to catch fish in areas where it's difficult to use a rod (such as real brushy areas).

I use a 4’6” Shakespeare micro series spinning rod with a shimano sienna 500fd. With 2 or 4 pound test. I have 2 of that same setup and it’s my favorite out of all of mine

I love pier shooting for crappie. 4ft with some 4-6lb test. I brought in a 4lb on it.

UL is pretty much my preferred choice of fishing for the past 20 years. For me, fishing is all about that rush, I get when something tugs on the other end of the line.

In 2000, I landed a 30"+ steelhead on 4lb test line, in Oregon. Major rush!

Hooking a huge shell cracker or redbreast is always a good fight on the combo I use, especially if you're waist deep in the water.

I like ultralight for small fishes.
