Yes! These behaviors are very similar! - I'm wondering if over time I should seek out other videos of eels doing this to compare across species.

My ghost ribbon eel has put on even more weight and length now - so they are getting larger shrimps at slightly longer intervals apart. The addition of the green star polyps has really bumped my water quality as well, and the eel seems thankful for the addition.

I recently found out I will be moving to NY in the next few months so I'm agonizing over how to move Careen. I'm thinking of bribing someone or a store to hold him during the move so his travel time is a lot less.

Why are you moving to New York?

There are many reasons- but mostly because my household has no support network down here. There are job/family/living opportunities in the north side that we really cannot pass up. We also hope to get more of a long-term living situation going --- Which everyone knows in this hobby how valuable that stability can be.

Careen is also going to get a tank upgrade so I've been running extra media in the meantime. Hoping to get everything saturated with micro organisms so that at least half of the bio filter survives the long journey. It's also just a good opportunity to see if I can source a larger setup. I have a few backup tanks but i'm thinking I want a good 100g or larger for him in the longterm..

When you get settled why not build a diy tank?
Also keeping oxygen flowing thru the bio filter helps during the long journey, good luck!

Thankfully I do dabble in DIY. I haven't investigated options for constructing a DIY tank - but I have made some custom move setups for aeration and flow on the road (Yay cigarette lighter powered builds! - That one got me from OK to CA and then CA to TX!) Good Advice! - And thank you!

I'll keep everyone updated when the day of the move comes.
