Feeder fish for big fish?

Hey guys

Whats the best feeder fish to feed big fish(As a treat), guppies and mosquito fish are to small for my fish and i know that goldfish are no good...

Any other options?

I personally don't feed live but some breed Convict's for feeders.

We don't use "feeders" due to them normally having either diseases or parasites.

If you want feed live fish best to raise your own. That way you know they are clean and can gut load prior to feeding them to the big fish. Convicts are a good way, breed like crazy, just feed them at 1/2inch or smaller due to dorsal fins. Live barriers like Platties or Swords work as well. Feed one fish at a time, or you could get stowaways now breeding in your main tank

Cons are mean little fish, could cause unwanted territory issues

I agree with the others, unless you can breed and grow your own, feeding store bought fish, or live caught feeders is a ticking time bomb of disease and parasites. Anything from easy to deal with parasites like ick of anchor worm, to impossible diseases to cure like VHS (Viral Hemoragic Septicimia).

Whats a good pellet food to help with growth?

Massivore is good but over priced here in SA

I believe good growth is more about lots of large water changes, maybe more than food. I know breeders who change 90% of a tanks water daily, to get the best and fastest growth.
