Those are Brycon. Big eye, taller and lots of red fins.
Shape of mouth also.
Who can dodge a wrench!?!?!

One of these fish is not like the other....... Anyone see anything that jumps out as being different?
Nothing jumps out, but slight diffences in head and fin proportions to me. Body shape on one does seem a bit more streamlined. Hill plate shape is slightly different. Main difference to me is in the fins but it's so slight I'd say it could be due to genetics.

Whether these or dorados or not (and I lean toward they are), you've definitely found something new and unusual. I'm excited to watch these grow. :)

Any updates, Al?

Man its like true MFKers have ESPN...... It's like someone knew I was all hopped up on delicious cold adult beverages last night watching these things swim like they haven't been able to since they were caught.....

I just moved these guys from my pup system to a 8x2 300 last night and I can honestly say there is nothing more entertaining then watching Dorado pace.

I am very excited to let you all know that there is a batch of these guys landing here in the states this week..... Better get yours fast, or I'll buy them all..... Again. There's actually enough coming we should all be able to get some this time........

I will gladly post a vid IF there's interest......... ;)

Yes....Video please!

I'll work on getting a better one once they get settled in. Still all mad about the move, not eating yet. These things definitely seem to act different then Dorado Ive raised in the past. They don't have much of an appetite at all for Dorado and in turn don't grow very fast at all. Very timid flighty fish. I picked up several off the floor during the process of moving them.

Most of the Dorado from past would go on lil hunger strikes here and there, but these don't seem to gorge themselves like I'd expect. Much more like ATF appetite wise.

I'm sure a little early to tell but so far things seem to be OK with the Cuda aside from the first few hours I spent watching the big Cuda eye ball the lil Dorado like he might have a go, but never went.

Would love some feedback!!!! What do you guys think????

I saw it on YouTube was gonna ask you if they're gorwth rate is slower than the others you've had but you touched on it lol. They look good and the lesser appetite and slower growth could be attributed to it being a smaller species like we suspected... are these aggressive like the other species or to early to tell?
