Thanks for the update! That's excellent news then the High Fins should be able to survive where I'm at just north of ATL outdoors we are in the same climate zone.

Oddball, can you clarify something? When you are wintering these in sand, in the oil catch pans, are they still submerged in water? And also, when adding fertilizer, looks like you put it directly in the pond with said fish?

I live in Alabama where it seldom freezes so, I leave the rhyzomes in the pond year-round. The fertilizer tabs are pressed into the oil pan sands, about 3" into the sand and 3-4" from the main part of the rhyzomes.

Any sign of the mutant this year?
Not yet. But, the rhizome is still alive and I got a couple of normal blooms from it. I'll be keeping an eye out for the next mutant blooms.
