Thanks. They're like me babies All hand fed and very friendlyNice eels.
My tire track eel eats pretty much daily. I feed him a mix of shrimp scallops, and whitefish. He used to eat worms but refuses them now. I feed him until he refuses food. His food has to be warm or he won't eat it and I have to hold it for him. He ignores dropped food in the tank. He won't eat live food anymore.Cool, what's their feeding regimen like?
Cool, just keep in mind many spiny eels can easily develop weidght problems, so when they look fat, ease off a bitMy tire track eel eats pretty much daily. My peacock and half banded spiny eat red worms 1-2 daily. They live with guppies and eat their fry but leave the adult guppies alone. Occasionally I'll feed them blackworms or live ghost shrimp but the red worms are their favorite.
During my tire track eel's hunger strikes, I raise the water temperature a bit and limit light periods and that seems to help.
I've noticed that with my peacock eel and so I don't feed him until he refuses food anymore like I do my tire track eel. Good advice though. I thought my peacock was just a unique piggy I didn't know it was common ThanksCool, just keep in mind many spiny eels can easily develop weidght problems, so when they look fat, ease off a bit
