Feeding barramundi

I have a barra who is only small at the moment but what would i feed him when he gets big that would not cost a fortune i was thinking of breeding mice but from what i can find some people say that thay cant digests the proteins properly do you guys have any suggestions on what to feed him

Mice are a terrible idea. Feed live now and then convert to frozen and go from there.

Mice are ok as a snack, but not as a majority of diet, switch to dead foods while he's still young.
Fish, grasshoppers, earthworms, high protein pellets, shrimp/krill, and even small crabs can be fed

At the moment he is eating high protein pellets, meal worms and i try to get him to eat crickets but he just sits there looking at them

Tried fish yet? Trout chunks or tilapia is good

No i have tried a bit of shrimp but he didnt like it

Start by handfeeding what he likes and trick him by switching every once in a while

You've slready got the little guy on pellets so I say stick with that and give it raw seafood as a supplement or a treat.

The high protein pellets that you mentioned should suffice and then there is Massavore and New Life Spectrum among others.
