I wonder if my nasty would “allow” some type of catfish to share his space...... that would help keep my substrate a little more tidy
Idk was never a real believer in the clean up crew thing. More fish more waste.
How long do you leave the lights on for ?
I do dose ridx so maybe that's the reason.

Thoughts on ridx reducing this stuff ?
Try the ridx I've been doing it for yrs and never have any build up. 1 tbls per 75 or hundred gallons in a fine mesh bag. Squeeze the crap out of it in the tank
i've heard of folks using ridx. Read that huge thread about it a few years ago. May need to try it out. Do you leave it in the tank after you squeeze it or just squeeze and then remove.
Both. For the most part I leave it through out the day on wc day and may squeeze it throughout the day then remove at night
