Pvc pipe question

Hi everyone!

I recently bought some pvc tubing and its in my tank now. My fish are loving it zooming in and out!

This is just tempory, could I use like marine glue to stick substrate onto the pvc. And then put a plant on top?

My tank is established but I dont have any more substrate to use for the tubing

Could I buy some more and wash it well then use?

You can use super glue or silicone. GE 1 silicone is used a lot. Do not use GE2

Why not cover it in aquatic moss?

I've seen some people take a torch to it, so it bubbles and contorts a bit, and in the end, looks like a hollow log, especially if algae, grows on it, or as suggested above some attach some java fern, Anubius, java moss or bolbitis type plants that don't need to be planted in substrate.
