Gave Scrappy some baby crickets for the first time tonight. He's pretty much figured out that every time I come to his tank he gets fed. So there was no hesitation when I dropped the first one. I went to shake another one out of the bag but they all kind of rushed the hole so six were dropped at once. Scrappy snapped them all up rapid fire, without actually swallowing them. Every time he opened his mouth to draw water a cricket would pop out and try to swim to the surface. After the first 30 seconds I think he was just playing with his food coz he kept doing it for a while before he finally ate them all. Then he went back to doing his wiggle dance for me. Silly little minnow

Fish just love it when the food is wriggly, my friend kept a goldfish pond , also had bluegill and hybrid sunfish, we decided to feed little earthworms to the bluegill, when the goldfish saw their sunfish buddies eating they just had to join in!

So I was bustin out the tape measure and my calculator this evening (my husband hates it when I do that) and I figured some new dimensions for the tank build I'm doing next summer. I was planning to do a 400gallon thinking I wouldn't have space for anything bigger. But because a few of the things in my fish room we unsalvageable after the hazmat flood from the neighbor, I have more space than I thought I did. I already have most of the materials I need so the new plan is going to be 8ftL 4ftW amd 3ftH. I'd of gone 4ft deep but I still wanna clean this thing with out having to use a snorkel. What y'all think? Oscars will have some wiggle room lol
