I know these fish are very common and Retail for pennies at LFS when 2 inches long but I've seen some trend at $200.00 at 7 inches is this normal or is that an insane price?

I mean, Its a popular fish I get it but if I wanted to spend 200 dollars I'd have a hybrid or something oddball I was just curious because I saw one for 200 dollars
A normal one? Doesn't make sense, even the best quality ,shipped from Asia ,adult ones only go for 50 bucks at most
It's on Aquabid and somebody actually bid! 200 dollars for a Gold saum I'm in the wrong business!
Im Watching this Auction to say the least if a person wants something I say good for them Its just interesting because in my LFS they are 7 dollars so I just wanted to see if I was missing something
The person who is bidding is either missing something (their brain) or the seller trying to make it look like people are bidding.
My guess is because of the caudal fin color and shape. Looks like someone is attempting to work on selective breeding for that look. People will pay higher prices for something they find unique.

Honestly and depending, I could see any excellent specimen of a species selling for hundreds. To the right person it means a lot and they will pay.
