Had to seperate Laz and Toni. Laz had been pushing her buttons and she had been trying to put up with him. She lost her patience with him today tho and beat the snot out of him. I'm not going to try to put them back together until next summer when I can provide them with enough space to escape one another and other fish to disperse aggression. My biggest aquarium right now is 200gallons and I don't feel like its enough space to house them together with tank mates and keep everything clean without a daily 50% water change.

Here's a pic. See Jex, Toni is ok. ^_^20181008_172830.jpg

A few fin rips but nothing horrible. He will be good as new in a few days. I have him back in a hospital tank right now. I think 125 just isn't big enough for the two of them no matter how much I filter it. Will try again when I have ponds up and running again. I will be working on them all winter and should be ready for fish by mid spring.

Went to feed Scrappy this morning. When I opened the tank he came flying out like something was chasing him. I looked like a cartoon character trying to hold on to a bar of soap as I was trying to keep him from hitting the floor. He spined my hand really bad but I managed to get him back in the water unharmed.

I think this fiasco was my fault. I was rushing through the feed this morning. I turned on his light and immediately opened the lid to feed. I think he wasnt awake yet and I startled him. A palm full of holes is a painful reminder to slow down.
