I am in AC for a work conference but may try to hit some lfs on the way home. Anyone have any recommendations? I am big into odd balls, monsters and fw puffers. I live in around bridgewater so will try to keep things a bit on the way.

Any insight on these places:
JB tropical fish Williamstown NJ
Ocean Aquarium Egg harbor NJ
Aquarium Center Clementon NJ

Also places to avoid will also be appreciated

thanks

Lived on the outskirts of AC for about 5 years... unfortunately, nothing really worthwhile in the area. Ocean aquarium in Egg harbor has a cool piranha pond when you walk in, but the actual selection of fish is only your basic run of the mill stuff, and the maintenance on their tanks is "eh".
Haven't been to the other two you mentioned, they are both at least a 40 min drive from AC looks like.

Aquarium center has good selection and some oddballs with good prices.
Aquarium Center used to have a nice selection back before they moved to their current location. They have a much smaller space for livestock now and their saltwater takes a big chunk of that.
They have a beautiful display tank though.

I honestly didn't mind their selection the few times I went. I agree it wasn't an enormous selection. I do like the variety they bring in. A lot of barbs I've never seen in person before. Also only place I saw Buffaloheads which was tough not walking out with 2.

I have never heard of JB before so I looked them up.They are not too far of a drive for me so I might go and check them out.

That's great,I guess I just miss the old place so much compared to this one.It almost depresses me when I go in there.

I drove 30 minutes out of my way to go to JB. Only to find out they closed midday for several hours.

I then went to aquarium center. Overall a really nice shop. Nothing too rare but a lof of fish you don't see every day. They also have odd balls.
