I have used melafix at little less than 1/2 dosage a few times to fix up some real bad wounds on red bellies with excellent results. it will kill BB and force a cycle at proper doses. but it has fixed some pretty bad wounds for me. just a thought

I had a dragon blood peacock that laid against the heater during a round of ick treatment. He died the next day.
I took a scrap piece of ABS pipe and split it length wide down one side, then drilled a metric butt-load of 1/2" holes all around it.
With the split, I could just open it up and slide it over my suction cups for the heater. Definitely not pretty, but very effective (and blends into my black background....kind of!).

my fish burned his kok recently on the heater... made me so upset.. pics are out of order 3rd pick is the day it happened after it went from white to a dark spot. last picture was like 4 days ago. been almost 3 weeks since it happened. hoping for a fully heal.

You can buy heater guards for like 3 bucks off ebay.

Hes still hanging in there, but looks beat up. The eye is deflated. Cuts are healing, but look rough. Charges at me and still acts a fool. He won't eat a thing though which is worrying me.

Time will tell but my guess is he'll slowly waste away at this rate.
