I recently upgraded to a 125 gallon tank (6ft), and I wanted to get some opinions on possibly adding an oscar to the current mix.

The tank receives weekly 50% water changes and it has three canisters running along side two sponges rated for up to 100g each.

Here the current stock:
4 firemouth
4 silver dollar
2 Bichir
3 Nicaraguan cichlids
1 Blood Parrot
1 green terror (female- possibly moving soon)

I'm open to other suggestions as well. I'm looking for something a little bigger in size with personality. And not overly aggressive.

This is what the setup looks like.

you could go with an oscar, may get a big big compared to the other fish, you could go for a red devil, texas cichlid, salvini cichlid, geophagus eartheater, or possibly some uaru. I am by no means an expert on any of these fish, but they are small enough to be in a 125 gallon tank, I can't really tell you if they would get along with the other fish or not, I don't see why not though.

I agree with what Reiner said but if you are really wanting to add something else i would go with more silver dollars. They always do better in larger schools. Good looking setup.

I wouldn’t add any large cichlids. The tank is pretty well stocked. The fish look really healthy, I wouldn’t mess that up. That female nic is beautiful.
