The coloration depends on the mood.
It can be almost black as well but most of the time it's showing this light coloration which I do really like.

Oh I don't know.
Been keeping predatory species for years now and I am just used to not mainly use pellets in all tanks but one.

And keeping it natural can't be wrong.

Looks like they are coming along well, what sizes are they?
What else do you do besides natural diet, how many and how large water changes?

adorable little monsters. My juvi O eats a grocery list worth of foods. Pellets offer vitamins and nutrients that may be lacking in other singular food types. I perfer gel foods myself tho. I grind up pellets and add them to my gels.. I cheat lol

Wow, I’ve never cared for longfin oscars but that one is very stunning.

Easiest way is Repashy.

I use inscetivore, spawn&grow, super green, soilent, and red drum. To all of that I may add some fine ground pellets, ground flax seed, garlic powder. I feed 3 to 4 times a day, do a 10% water change 6 days a week, 90% 1x wk.

The point is my 3month old oscar is 5inches long...

I am not hugely experienced with keeping Oscars. I've been taking advice from members like Jexnell Jexnell , tlindsey tlindsey , Deadliestviper7 Deadliestviper7 (these people know their stuff well) and I mix it with what Ive learned from growing out other species. I'm hoping they will help me produce a 15 inch fish in the next 5 yrs or so. Lol
