Is it possible to get pike livebarers to eat pellets or anything else? I’ve heard they’ll only eat feeders.
Mine were hungry eaters, their favorite was freeze dried krill but they did eat nls pellets. I never fed a single feeder fish

CIchlids will most likely eat all the babies, unless you have very intricate hiding spots that the GT's can't get into.

Pike livebearers would probably work. I have kept them in the past, and the females get quite large.

Personally I might go for Buenos aires tetras instead of livebearers. Should be too fast and large to eat, also they are from SA so will keep the tank geographically accurate. Or, a few striped silver dollars would work fine in a 180.

My first option was actually BA Tetras but I heard that green terrors may eat them. How large was your green terror and how large were the tetras?

What is the largest a green terror could eat

I have kept green terrors with large bleeding heart tetras and some were eaten.
The best tank mates for green terrors in my experience were hoplo catfish. They are a little to big to be eaten, tuff and active. They are also easy to breed if you wanted.

My schoolers aren’t geographically correct. I have giant danios mostly and four rainbow fish. I’d rather have a large school of rainbows, but I’ve ended up with the danios from a tank purchase(they did not warn me that there were fish in it)
And now they bred so I have even more. Lol I won’t complain though. My terrors don’t mind them and I love how active they are. They use the whole tank so it never looks empty with just three terrors in it.
And I’ve only lost one. I’m not positive what happened. It was a female that was very bloated looking.
My big female might have killed it, or maybe it went septic from being egg bound. Not sure.

My only experience with livebearers is guppies. Because they slept at the surface and on the bottom it made them easy to be picked off. It wasn’t long before they were all gone.
