I bought a sailfin pleco recently and it didn't bother with the algae in my mini pond. Can you advise what would be a true algae eater?
For plecos bristle nose are the best. Flag tail if you have the space. True siamensis are not terrible. All depends on algae type.I bought a sailfin pleco recently and it didn't bother with the algae in my mini pond. Can you advise what would be a true algae eater?
Mine must be defective then. He refuses to eat algae unless its in the form of a wafer.I’ve found best success with Chinese algae eaters. They’re more aggressive but clean aquarium decorations of algae extremely quickly.
Hahaha sounds like it!!! I had one in a 10 gallon and would move my decorations into there from the 120 and one piece would be CLEAN over night! Two nights tops!Mine must be defective then. He refuses to eat algae unless its in the form of a wafer.![]()
That's awesome. Mine was a rescue from one of my mums friends who was gonna flush him. He was kept in a tiny 30ltr tank with a ton of mix and match tetras and nearly dead when I got him. Maybe living in a tiny, filthy tank messed with him psychologically and gave him algaephobia? Who knows lolHahaha sounds like it!!! Could be that! Or maybe the algae wafers were easy to get so it didn’t have to work for its food. I never gave mine algae wafers. That's awesome.
