Obviously price of used equipment is subjective. However, I am looking for opinions on this tank I am interested in. 96x36x24 375 gal. Seamless rounded corners. 1/2” acrylic. Needs a good buff or possibly a wet sand. No idea on age. Photos show some of the crazing. Please share your thoughts on value, concerns, or what you might like about it as a viable option. My cichla are rapidly outgrowing their current grow-out. Thanks in advance!

Let me preface this by saying im no expert on acrylic.
Half inch seem thin to me for this size tank. But it does have a top for bracing and over flows already so that’s a plus IMO.
Prices really depends on area and normal going rate.
All that being said I figured I would comment since you had no response.
In my area I would expect to see this tank priced for around 800.
But I would probably talk to the seller and offer less because I try to pay no more than 1 or 1.50 a gallon for used tanks. But that’s just me

I offered 800 and he laughed in my face. I got a little froggy and a day later i came back and said I was willing to talk. I’m going to let it fester for a bit and go take a look with 800 in pocket. If not, it’s not for me. Just wondering if any of these guys on here have any other comments about the 1/2” acrylic. It seems thin as my 275 is 1”, but it’s also 30” tall and butt jointed. Thanks for the comments

That’s a nice tank Justin Martin Justin Martin .. 1/2” acrylic seems to be standard for 24” tall tanks from what I have seen. That’s a great foot print and very similar to the one I will be eventually getting. As far a price goes on a tank that size I would say probably around 1500 tops. If you offered me 800 I would laugh at you too.

Lot of guys on here won’t pay more than $1.50/gallon for a used acrylic. That being said, it’s worth it to me, but who doesn’t like saving money? Lol

Looks nice, but a 8 x 3 is still probably too small for Cichla long term?

So why not just use the £800 to build a nice big tank with a window, then wont have to upgrade in 6 months when they outgrow this one?
