I’ve had my flowerhorn for a while and i noticed his stomach is very bloated. He moves lots of gravel and carries some in his mouth so i thought maybe he could have swallowed one and now can’t poop :( I feed him a mixed diet of pellets and i watch him very carefully but this happened over night. Worried he might actually have bloat. He’s still very active follows my finger and seems to be good but i can’t help but worry about him. He’s only about 3.5 inches from mouth to tip of tail. I haven’t fed him yet nor do i want to and i’ve been checking to see if he’s pooped at all and nothing. ANY TIPS OR ADVICE PLEASE :(

Water temp up to around 88 and Epsom salt. . . 1 tablespoon to 5 gallons. Don't feed for 5 days. After that. . pre-soaked pallets only! Do not give dry pellets! They eat their fill and then the pellets swell in the stomach. Bad news! Flowering do great on pellets only.

I will definitely do that, about to run and get some salt right now and my heater only goes up to 87 degrees. going to add another air stone as well, thank you and i seriously hope he gets better soon :(

Hey friend, im just a newbie here and recently got my FH 4days ago. I think i have the same problem here, his stomach is bloated but actively swimming around. He hasn’t eat anything for 2 days now and his stomach is still bloated. I’m just wondering if you could help me? What procedures did you do to make him feel better? I’m also worried now. Thanks for the help.
