These two arw settling well. Both are eating various NLS formulas and tilapia.
For the life of me i cant tell them apart other than the size difference.DHarris can you point out the differences?
This arrangement isnt going to work out long term. After qt both will go into the bichir tank. The L253 is sort of beating on the smaller L14.
Congrats on a great couple of fish, nice pick up!
You'll be able to tell them apart in no time. Easiest indicator for you to easily spot is going to be the fins and tail. L14 has an orange seam that the L253 wont have.
L253 is generally black with yellow spots and belly. Some are more white than yellow but still different than L14.
If you come across one with a belly that's black with white/yellow spots continued on it, that's likely an L048.
They're both going to eat anything you put in there. Mine primarily get algae wafers and massivore pellets but love zucchini and shrip/krill (quality shrimp pellets too).
Both of them appear to be males based on the squared cheeks.
Well i made the mistake of giving them cucumber. Never again the tank looked like a snow globe.
did you use seedless or regular? Sometimes the veggies do make a mess. Occasionally I'll put butterfly net mesh around my intakes and powerheads. makes it a bit easier to pull some of the bits out without them continually floating around or getting into filter.
