  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
CAREFUL........Not sure if this is allowed in FLA.....

What he like this when you caught him? He looks horrible! Definitely get to treating him.

Yes when I caught him he looked like thisx but the color potential on this guy is amazing and the other small male I caught along with him that I threw back, had the same stringy stuff along the fins, it’s surely is has something to do with the slime coat, still speculating n possible explanations.

Hope you get it all healed up so we can see it in all it’s glory. Add some salt or antibiotics.

Too bad people are destroying the ecosystem down there by releasing all these exotics.

I love watching the Florida fishing videos on Youtube. It would be so cool to catch a new cichlid to take home instead of shopping at the LFS.

I wonder happened to this poor fellow though. Hopefully he makes a full recovery. He looks like he was getting beat something un-merciful.

I'm pretty sure that Florida wants each and every one of these guys out of their waters for good. I believe you are supposed to kill or at least not release any cichlid back into the wild down there.

Pretty sure you have to kill anything caught. Not cool to keep any fish caught in the wild especially invasive fish. Mods can elaborate.....

I couldn't kill some badass cichlid I caught. What if you caught some huge Jag or Midas or something?

I understand your point nonetheless. Luckily for us we don't have to worry about running across any in our local waters. Although I wouldn't be surprised if a Texas Cyano could live in Oklahoma lakes. Its possible maybe

People pay way more money for wild caught fish all the time in this hobby. Also in Florida you can release invasive species when caught, even snakehead.

Another Florida fish farm flooded and all there species go everywhere. Sad and amazing at the same time what you can get collecting fish
