Why are these being sold????

I honestly don't care what you do, Frank. I just thought that it was funny, posting a big announcement with odd pics included that you are leaving, then here you are again. Okay then ....

BTW - Seeing as you are the quote etiquette police, my full quote from above was:

"This hobby is cruel, and selfish. Millions upon millions of both freshwater & marine fish die every year during collection, transportation, while in holding tanks, ponds, vats, and of course in our tanks. Making fish illegal doesn't stop the death of those fish, or any other fish, it doesn't even make a blip on the radar. If saving fish is a life choice that you want to make, join PETA, because this most certainly isn't the place for you."

My stance has never changed, and I'm not sure why you feel that I was disagreeing with you about banning fish? I have never said that large fish should be banned, and posting that comment when I tagged Matt Zoodiver, above, never supported outright bans of this species either.

WTF are you talking about? lol

Invasive species wasn't brought up by me, do I need to go back and quote you, in the infant manner that you just did to prove my point? You previously used snakeheads to support your earlier view, I clarified why only a partial species ban on snakeheads (invasive species) was not realistic due to identification at juvenile/fry stages. You later used the comment about koi (deemed noxious/invasive in AU) from our AU members to support your view (bans don't work), which again I had to come back and clarify why those bans are in place.

You seem to want to go back & forth, but when others do you proclaim that we are somehow in support of banning the fish mentioned by the OP? Ummm, nope, never said that. lol

I'm not hammering home anything, I was simply attempting to clarify for those that are apparently fairly ignorant on the subject.

Oh then forgive me i guess i was confused. In one thread bans dont work...in others they do. In one thread thousands of hobbyists can keep primas....in other not many can.

My comment about snakeheads was in regards to blanket bans and how sometimes they arent necessarily accurate. All of the invasive talk was discussed pages ago. I figured we had moved on from it

At the end of the day people are gonna keep what thy wanna keep regardless of bans etc... if you don’t think it’s right don’t do it but don’t rain on another persons parade because you don’t like what they’re doing or how they’re keeping fish just make the recommendation and move on. Asian arowana and snakeheads are not hard to obtain in the us with bans in place neither will pima if it ever happens. Everyone makes good point etc but this thread is going on too long. Be the best you that you can be and stop worrying about what lfs or other hobbyist are doing. Open your own rescues if you wanna quote on quote give fish the proper home (which is all opinion based). Intex pools are more than affordable for the crybaby peta pushers that Debby down everyone’s posts, so get out there and start saving everyone’s fish.

Yup, you are very confused. The world is a big place, Frank. Lots of people have large ponds, and live in tropical climates. I explained why bans are in place, not how they work to perfection. Stop foaming at the mouth and pay attention.

Again, Frank, you are the person who brought invasive species back up, and bans, when you quoted the AU members. Is your memory that short? lol

Perfect examples of bans gone wrong

At that point the invasive species commentary was over, you resurrected it, not me. lol

Now take a minute and reread this comment. You are contradicting yourself on both accounts. Not foaming.... smiling

Just to make it clear.
I don't want large fish banned I just don't think local fish stores should stock them for the casual hobbyist. Banned from local fish stores but not banned for true enthusiasts that are willing to pay the extra to ship them.
I hope that's clear for those who feel I've contradicted myself.

Frank, if you read carefully, and slow down a bit, my comment regarding Matt Zoodiver was not a contradiction whatsoever. The person just prior to that comment, mentioned someone keeping a pima in a 5,000 gallon tank, I simply pointed out what someone who has actually kept a few of these, suggested as a min tank size.

Carp - please, for the love of god and everything sacred and holy, STFU.

BTW - if ya'll don't know who Matt Zoodiver Zoodiver is, you should probably read a few of his posts regarding this subject. As far as an authority on this species, he would be that.
