So I’ve purchased a 180 gallon and been running it with no fish in and plan on getting a jardini arowana, the struggle I can’t get over is what plants I should get. I’ve read into Arowanas and plants and if they are correct.. as long as they are tall enough to disturb their swimming I should be fine. I’ve really been looking into a carpet wall with moss. But my situation is I don’t want to spend $500 on just moss to crest a carpet for the back. I was wondering if there is any cheaper solutions for my desires or any ideas? Its going to be a bare bottom tank.. don’t ask why I hate gravel and looks better bare in my opinion. Thanks again!:D

Also quick question, would mirimo moss balls be an option? If broken up and flattened? Just thought of that idea but not sure if would see any good results

They seem to often die when taken apart
Ahh alright thanks for letting me know! Do you happen to know any other ideas? Also does all moss grow in aquariums? I’ve only been looking at java and Christmas moss but if I could save some money that would be wonderful

with your preference. id go with anubias/java/or moss attached to some nice big long driftwoods since substrate is not an option. moss walls will take forever to cover the walls especially with no co2. or u can grow plants in a pot. but that looks ugly in a tank. with no susbtrates you're really limited.

I’ve been researching all day at work on pricing on java and Christmas, by the time I would cover the back wall 50% I would be looking at dropping a paycheck hahahah. I would consider substrate but have found bad reviews on Amazon and being worried about feces of the fish sitting there at a times end. I get cleaning it and all but that’s more work and disturbing the fish. The cleaner the tank and more time to enjoy the fish in my office is what I’m going for. I have one 1200 cascade filter/ one 1500 cascade elite filter. Just trying to go step by step to insure a healthy tank for my soon to be pal:)
