What you would put in a 125 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A Oscar!!! :headbang2
Classic, cant go wrong with that.
Pair of severums and a nice big pleco. Posse of clown loaches and an EBJD. Solitary amphilophus. Pack of geophagus and pike cichlids maybe...
This guy has a lot going on inside his head whoo dawgy
You could do a lot with a 125. Dozens of threads about it too. You could do:
A pair CA/SA cichlids of your choice (Oscar, Jack Dempsey, Green Terror, etc.)

Oddball tank (smaller bichirs, leopard ctenopoma)

African cichlid route with some peacocks

A general community tank (a bunch of livebearers, gournami, tetra, etc)

Unless you plan on getting a larger tank stay away from arowana, peacock bass, and the RTC

There’s a bunch of other options just do some research
I'm fully aware in the fact that I have done so and have a 125 but wondering what YOU would/are do with one.
I think this is more of a what would you do thread. He's not asking what he can do, he's asking what you guys would do.
100% thank you for reiterating
Big fancy goldfish, plant it, and a little bit of Buddhist theme decor. I'm all about some zen space.
YES, goldfish are goofy and calming to watch.
What are the dimensions on a 125? That would help me decide which of my fish would get an upgrade. :p

Seriously, I'd move fish I already have from a smaller tank, into the bigger one (my largest tank by volume is a 4'x2'x2' 120g, longest tank is a 5' 100+g). It just makes sense to give everyone as much room as possible. When I get bigger tanks I like to upgrade my current residents not collect new fish when I could be doing better with the ones I already have. :)
Just a classic 6ft 125g

Those were all separate suggestions on my part mind you.

Looking forward to seeing what you get!!!
If your asking me what I have, then atm I have 8 lyonsi growing out, 4 firemouths, 5 SDs, 1 syno cat, 1 raphael cat, 1 sen bichir, 1 surviving tiger barb, anddd I think thats it. On the look out for a group of albino hoplo cats one day, a delhezi bichir, and some geophagus.
Final stock one day: lyonsi pair, those 5 SD, albino hoplo cats, syno cat, delhezi bichir, sen bichir, raphael cat, and geos. I have recently fallen in love with catfish obvi.

IM sorry. I should have asked what you have. LOL!!! Raphael Cats are cool!!!

No, that sounds like an awesome setup. I've always loved having a school of silver dollars. I've been in the hobby for 7 years (doesnt sound that long but I just recently turned 16 lol) and I've had silver dollars for 6 of those years. currently have a group of redhooks. Ive never had a real peaceful tank like that so it would be nice see.
It is a very peaceful tank to watch. A bit of squabbling between the black widow tetras here and there is about as aggressive as it gets. It's a great tank to chill in front of when you're having a bad day, seeing everyone in the tank get along helps bring my brain back down to earth. :)

There are a million options, and I like to keep many different types of setups, so hard to say. But I would like to combine all my midsized CA growouts in a 6' tank, so my next 125 would have Irregularis, Pasionis, and Panamensis.
