What's your favorite fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Too many to choose from really but ive really enjoyed my EBAs. I really enjoy all types of amphilophus as well. So much personality.

My newest favorite is my group of redfin argenteus tetras. Im considering expanding my group from 9 to around 20.

I am torn between alot of fish...I dont think I have just one favorite but overall the fish I have enjoyed the most were my female dovii, my sen bichir that came from petsmart at like like a little over the length of my thumbnail and is now like 5-6 inches he also has a big freckle on his back, my garbage disposal of a syno cat, and a big pair of severums( the male was atleast 6 inches long without the fin trailers)
But out of fish I dont own, asian arowana, aripima, leopoldi stingrays, and definitely endi and delhezi bichirs.

Is their growth normal or are they behind? I wonder if they need to be put in that 25' by 25' exhibit you were thinking about working on. Either way your red tails are the biggest i've seen on MFK.

IDK what's normal after 2'-3' in captivity. I have not seen any data to compile a statistical picture. IMHO, any fish would benefit from a bigger tank. Hence my name ;) (Some silly men think it is about women.) Furthermore, my RTCs, but one, are rescues and have gone through various degrees of abuse and stunting what not. That's muddles up "normal" expectations.

After a few years, they must be upgraded. So not looking forward to it.

TLKM hands down

I agree. In a recent video he mentioned the biggest of his was 48"-50" and has been 17 years with him. His quote. I hope he is correct but he also is a bit of a glory chaser, to be honest, which is not necessarily a bad thing but tends to cloud one's judgment, is what I am getting at. Last solid measure from some years back was 46" or some such. So I am assuming he is extrapolating or guessing the current size.
