I picked this guy up today. I haven't owned many plecos, mostly bristlenoses, but have really been looking at them alot lately. I saw this one on my weekly petstore trip and decided to try it out. Anyone else have one?

congrats!!! I got one a couple of months ago. I bought a 3" L007 last year and died when I started using dry ferts (macros) in a planted tank. I wanted another one for a while and found this one and jumped on it. It's about 4.5" when I got it and might've grown a bit already in the 2 months as it's in a pleco tank and gets tons of food and water changes.

Thanks, it was between the vampire and a green phantom. I probably over paid but finding something like this local doesn't happen often. I only have one decent private store near me.

There's really no issues with any of my plecos. There's a bit of shoving around once in a while but nothing I would consider violent or agressive. The tank is a 40g breeder as a growout for most of my plecos. The vampire (which was pointed out to me as a L240) will be going into a 75g. The tank will eventually be a breeder tank for the L128s if I'm lucky.

It's bare bottom and I do 10% w/c every day mainly to get out all the poop (sooo much poop!) and 50% weekly. I recently made those slate caves so I left the terra cotta watering spikes in while BB establishes on the slate caves. The terra cotta will eventually be taken out and I'll probably make a few more slate caves to make the structures a little taller. I have a AC50 with 2 sponge blocks mainly for flow, bio filtering and picking up bigger pieces of debris, 2 sponge filters and a Topfin MF10 mainly for flow. I might replace the MF10 with a wave maker when I move out the guppies. The rainbows will eventually be moved out too. There's a new version of the Aqueon Pro heater at 100w. The room is warm so the heater has no problems keeping the tank at 80°F. The new version isn't as accurate as the older version but it does hold temps constant.

L240 5"
5 L128's 3-4"
2 L333 1.5"
1 L271 (could be a L333) 2"
L075 3"
L204 3"
Super Red BN 1.5"
7 juvenile guppies
4 juvenile M Trifasciata (Goyder River) rainbows (1.25")

Blue is my favorite color so I'm partial to blue phantoms :). I hope my group of 5 will breed for me in a few years.
