You don't want the current to be too strong to where the FlowerHorn is struggling to swim.

That one small power head is ok personally would raise it higher. If you have it there to keep waste from settling thats fine.

+1 tlindsey you dont want to much flow in the tank were your FH will struggle to swim agains the current, 50g tank should be fine with one pump.
