Wolf fish for a comm tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The snakehead is 18 inches (and tops out at around 24)so if I get a smaller curu then hopefully he will not push his luck! Also the snakehead generally stays at the top of the tank so hopefully limiting interactions.

Yeah I know what you mean, I am torn between a Mbu (to replace my beloved fahaka ) and going something new and get a curu which I have always wanted

Below is the beast emperor.. very Friendly and puffer like actually!

That snakehead is so nice. Shoot you already have a main display fish

If you've always wanted a curu then I say do that. Lifes short.

Lovely tank
A mala would fit right in, and they are quite tame too, always upfront staring at you for food.

I’d be careful with a wolf and snakehead. They may fight due to similar shape. The wolf is more likely to challenge. The snakehead will obviously have the upper hand. And curus take up all water columns. Mine was very interactive with me. I’ve only had one mala more interactive and active. My curu was fun to keep. I think either will be nice in your tank.

Thanks gents.. I haven’t been in here in a while and forgot how much direct knowledge is about! Impresses me every time.. Jury is still out on Mbu or Curu... sadly could come down to availablilty as I am in the UK but ehh part of the fun is the planning and the scheming... did the re-scape of the tank today and just waiting for the water to clear before I post pictures... going to try a few hardly plants again to help with water cleaning etc will update tomorrow on availability

I'll throw this out there. I'm not keeping any puffs right now that eat high crunch and loving it. To me its a pita feeding snails etc and this point in my life it's one less thing to worry about which is nice. Curu would be way easier to accommodate feeding.

That’s actually very smart! The fahaka was a hard feed as needed stuff in shell/crabs/crays etc.... Mbu would need the same and I have been told they are massive puss*es and get upset and die if bullied (just not me really) curu sound better and better

Tank re-scape... going to try and do a amazon spear on the far left and a hanging garden on the big wood on the far right... hopefully will be a ‘natural’ habitat for what ever I end up getting.. thanks as always
