I'm moving to Houston this summer and I just finished breaking down my acrylic tank when I noticed that even though I scrubbed the tank pretty well (while trying not to scratch it), I still had some stains from algae and hard water deposits. I filled it back with clean water from the hose when I was trying to pressure it off, and I was wondering if there was something that would help clean it. Should I add vinegar to this water and let it sit for a day or so and then scrub again? If so at what concentration?

if you have hard water deposits they sometimes eat into the acrylic and then its just sanding and polishing it or live with it.
Would you suggest pouring a bunch into the tank full of water and letting it sit for a couple days? Or dumping all the water and spraying it down with vinegar and leaving it a while?
If you have water in the aquarium already just add the vinegar. No need to do extra work. If empty you could spray or wipe the area with vinegar but I personally like allowing the water and vinegar to sit in the aquarium awhile.
If the vinegar doesnt work look into a product called novis. It's an acrylic polish it's a bit of work but if the tank is in good shape it will make it look new.
Agree with all of what was said above. A method I’ve used with a lot of success is placing vinegar soaked paper towel all over the tank and let it sit for a day. Novus 2 would work great as well.
