A few update pics of my s/a tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Bloody hell....@Stanzzzz7 it’s like the bottom of the Brazilian rainforest in that tank. Nicely done!

Lovely job Stan. It's such a natural autumn theme with all the colored leaves.

I've never had a tank like that, and wouldn't have a clue how to maintain it.
I assume it's all real and natural, but I can't tell from here.
Do you keep worms and snails or other bottom creatures?

Thank you Ulu Ulu .
Yes it's all natural materials, leaves, branches, twigs, seed pods etc.

I have a huge colony of trumpet snails that keep my substrate clean. I never gravel vac, I do large weekly water changes and let the plants feed on what's left in the substrate.

I'll have to try the trumpet snails. I have mysteries, zebras, tigers, trapdoors, ramshorns, and plain old bladder snails in other tanks.

But the cichlids just eat them up. My mysteries lay huge clutches of eggs, and I feed those to the Oscar.
