Unusual patches on senegal bichirs

There are no worms, when they looked like this the Cb fish was absolutely coated. I watched this tank for a good hour before and after lights off and no sucking or biting happening, just nudging and floating around.

Id still try and get them into a qt. It might be the only way to 100% rule out the other fish. Especially since you dont see any worms. I wonder if it could be another form of external parasite. Maybe treat with general cure or parasite guard if you can find any.

Either that or another salt dip.

I’m not very good at diagnosing, but could this be ammonia burn?

Look like slime coat that came of, i had that happened to my congi but it was just a scratch when i was doing WC but it was similar white patches. Im thinking its either worms that they get irretated and they try to scratch themselves into something rough to get it off. If there is no redness in the scales it not a bacteria infection. When did it start?

It might be ammonia burn but it will have some redness cause of the infection.

I had a endli shipped to me with alot of ammonia burn, fish was almost dying but with Ron’s help i got it back into full health.

This pic was taken when the process was healing from ammonia burn. Ill try to find the pic when i first got the endli.

It could be but the Senegalus does have circular lesions.

On my bottom fish, ammonia burn starts on the gills. Is it evident there?
I have corys. This may not be evident on bichirs.
