Hey, i recently got oscars as growouts for a large(200 gallon) pond. They are only about an inch rn. I have a red, an albino, and a normal tiger. The red has contracted a very severe case of ich. The others really dont seem to be effected. The albino had it for a couple days but doesnt anymore. The normal has never had any dots as far as i can tell and he’s constantly rubbing up against and laying with the red. The red however has just gotten worst. Absolutely covered in white spots. I have been medicating the water with Microbe-Lift herbtana since April 25. I have also been able to raise the temp to 84 which is the most i can get it to. All the while they have all been acting normally and personable as usual. What else can i do?View attachment 1371597View attachment 1371598

I dosed for 3 days did a water change/gravel siphon and did the same thing again and it was gone but my heater is now a permanent blue haha this was awhile ago and no symptoms have returned but my water sits at 79.5F in every tank3 days is for the symptoms to disappear, but you have to kill all the life-phases of fhis 3-phase parasite. That takes 2 weeks at 78F or 12 days at 88F, but I believe this varies somewhat with tank chemistry. (my water pH is 8.8 from the tap)
This is the old standby, but it kills your inverts and more so beware. Plus, copper can linger. Also it will permanently stain anything it gets on a beautiful shade of bright green.
I’ve done about 10 water changes since this was awihile ago and the filter is super over kill on the tank it seems to be fine there is a pleco and 6 cichlids in thereYOU dosed for 3 days, but the aquarium kept dosing that blue stuff into the water. That's not just some dye. That is copper and sulfuric acid, now un-buffered, and etched onto your gear. If you think it is gone, add a snail & see if it lives.
You can use a copper test kit, but IME they're not sensative enough or maybe there is variable & sporadic release of the copper sulfate from affected materials.
