Recently I’ve been looking into ropefish and I have not found many places online that sell them. So, where do yall get your ropefish from and for how much typically?

I live in a barren wasteland for fish but my lfs will do special orders so that is a possibility. What’s the average cost for one? I mainly see $10 from hobbyist to hobbyist and 20-30 for stores.

The Pet supermarket near me normally has a tank full. Not sure if you have one close to you though.

$30.00 is the highest I have seen them for sell. The lowest about $19.99.

I do indeed have a pet supermarket near me, not where I normally go but it’s only slightly out of the way for me. They haven’t ever had ropefish all the times I’ve been there.

Liveaquaria currently has them on sale for $20 instead of the original $30. I might just keep an eye on them there as time goes on.

The really good store near me has them at $32 almost all the time. I'm not sure where they get them from ie supplier. They usually qt and treat them and get them eating most anything before they go on the floor, they have a 90% survivabilty. Most loose about 50% after they get them in usually to parasites or climbing out. Another store gets them regularly usually look pretty bad after a couple days. I had this store order me 6 and I payed $10 each as they came in and I picked them up he never opened the bag. I qted them myself and treated and got them eating pellets before putting them in with the others. I lost 1 in qt, wouldnt eat anything. I started them off on baby crickets and moved to mysis and ghost shrimp. Then to just mysis and so on. Same proceedure as the good lfs.

The one I go to will special order stuff if it's on their list and you ask them. Might be worth a shot.
