On local classified section one guy is selling his silver arowana very cheap. Its like less than 200 dollars for a 23 inch long male arowana. Since I am about to start a big tank I thought to book that fish. But I asked videos and what he sent me looks like arowana has his left eye dropped out.

Can you please tell me if its worth buying this fish? He is selling whole setup including a jewel 450 litre (151 L× 61 W × 64 Height in centimetres) I know this tank is very small for a silver Arowana. But I think its a great deal to buy the tank with all the fish with a sun sun 304B canister filter. 300 Watt heater and air pump and air stone with LED lights and all for 1000 USD including Arowana. Please have a look:

Would you buy an arowana who having eye drop. I read that its literally impossible to protect drop eye in silver arowana and almost all SA gets them in their life but I am very consuded. Please advise. Thanks.

If it was me personally I would if I really wanted the Arowana. I don't believe they get drop eye in the wild.

Thanks but I read that in captivity more likely 70 percent have eye drop issues.

Did you say you would buy or you wouldn't buy? I mean such big size arowana itself costs so much. Please suggest.

Thanks. I can't give arowana a home he or she deserves so I am scrapping this idea for now. I will look into other options now. Something that can fit into a 150 cm length tank.

Nice thinking, that's why people come here, to learn and try to avoid having problems for themselves and marine critters, either now or later down the road. Continue your research as you are and I'm sure you'll find some suitable fish for the biggest tank you can fit in your available space.

That is not the best mindset to have when it comes to fish. Everybody can buy a baby fish that will grow into a monster but when that baby grows up not everybody can take care of the monster. Finding someone that can handle it is not a guarantee and it is best to just not get the fish if you can not handle it.
What is the maximum width you can make the tank?
Ya gonna want at least 300cm for one that big
That would be ideal at least

Thanks a lot. I completely scraped thd idea of having an arowana. Fish stores give very wrong info. According to them 4 feet is sufficient. They just want to sell fish. I won't get an arowana.
