Hi all,

I was wondering what size my Ornate poly and Severums should be before introducing a little oscar. Currently my sevs are about 3" and my poly is close to 5".
Since oscars grow really fast and the fact that my ornate is a little noodle right now I don't want to risk him getting eaten, i'm not so worried about my sevs because of their bodyshape. They're not easily eaten by a little oscar, the fish are in a 180G.

It's not the size of the fish really it's how big of a mouth does the Oscar have. Because if it can fit in the Oscars mouth, the Oscar will try it. Might be worth it to buy a "just in case" tank separator.

I would wait until the Ornate gets about 7-8inches. Make sure Oscar isn't to small to fit in the Ornate Bichir's mouth.

Plexiglass will work but drill holes in the sheet of plexiglass first.
