Unexpected messy fish!! And feeding questions. *rope fish

So I’ve had my rope fish for about two weeks now. Safe to say he/she will survive (not really expected).

Holy hell Batman’s can this fish ever make a mess!!! Totally unexpected.

Pic attached...aside from the algae growth in the tank and the dead hornwort “leaves” this fish leaves a huge mess when it eats pellet foods.

Much clearer when I feed mysis shrimp and brine shrimp.

question, if eating only mysis and brine shrimp is that a “varied” enough diet? Can I cut out the pellets from his/her diet? And how much should it be eating? I should have researched more haha I have tried krill but it doesn’t eat them

I feed a whole frozen cube of mysis or brine shrimp 2 or 3 times a week, with 2 days of pellets during the week...I do skip days of feeding so I’m kind of unsure if I am feeding him/her enough.

You can always add in some cut up fresh/frozen fish or shrimp.

The Rope will benefit from eating pellets also just break it up into smaller peices.

For pellets I feed shrimp pellets and bug bites..they are pretty small already, he chews them up and spits them out through his mouth and gills, I don’t even know if he eats them sometimes

I feed Bug Bites to my Senegal Bichir they love it. Shrimp pellet is probably one of the messy products on the market. I actually don't buy Shrimp Pellet's anymore.

My ropes/polys love pleco bites. Little messy but not to much. Mysis is good but brine is little nutrition, id deffinately stick with some sort of pellet. I also have stopped using shrimp pellets its a "snow storm" after I feed those.

I feed Bug Bites to my Senegal Bichir they love it. Shrimp pellet is probably one of the messy products on the market. I actually don't buy Shrimp Pellet's anymore.

Haha I never knew shrimp pellets were one of the known messier foods...I’ve only fed them to fish who eat them whole or to snails...I just never knew.

I fed bug bites and watched, not messy!

I’m going to stop feeding the shrimp pellets and find a replacement pellet

The bug bites pleco bites are a good mix of protein, fat and veg. Mine love them.

I have the bug bites bottom feeder formula...would that be similar to the pleco bites or am I misunderstanding in that you use bug bites and pleco bites (2 different foods)
