Where to source large rocks, real or fake.

I wish I could fit one into the tank, how did you mount you background ? Is the dead space behind it a concern ?
Mine isn't mounted per se. It's just sitting there. The gravel holds it in place at the bottom, and my HOB and Fluval intakes/returns keep it in place at the top. Obviously, put the background in the tank before you put in anything else, especially substrate.

If you get the flexible rubbery kind like I have, I recommend flattening it out before attempting the installation. It is shipped rolled up. You can apply a little heat to help get the curves out. It'll go in MUCH easier that way. It's a bit of a chore to get it in there but worth it IMHO.

You can see my background in pics in this thread:

Got ya, I'm concerned with dead space behind them, and how to clean behind them etc.
I'm not worried about it and don't clean behind it. I think it's a non-issue. But do what makes you feel comfortable. I've seen some people use the natural rock wall tile to nice effect. Could be a good option.

I have two universal rock backgrounds. There is dead space and stuff does get behind it. But honestly it is not that bad. Occasionally I do slide air hose tubing behind it and siphon. I wish I would have siliconed it to the back. I occasionally get fry that make their way behind it and it is not easy to get them out.

Any one have the super big stone just looking for a way to stick it to the back wall where I don't wind up with the back of it full of sand with glass pockets or full of fish crap. I'm leaning towards a couple of the large tall rocks. With some of the medium ones scattered about.
