My flowerforn colour and peral question??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say most of it is genetics and a small amount the diet of the fish but there will be some exceptions. But i was told to add a black or dark blie background when i was new to flowerhorns and i still am no expert by anymeans. But in experience the dark backgrounds actually stressed my flowerhorn out. I would say hes dedinetly part kamfa and probably wont get much redder or a big kok

He is a beautiful fish and you should be happy with him like he is

To be sure different FH's may react differently to different backgrounds (though I've personally never had a FH that actually got stressed by any background color), which is why I suggest non-permanent backgrounds (e.g. future board) and then you can experiment what your fish and you like the best.
