Hey guys I have a 4200 gallon pond. I have read on these forums that spotted gar are capable of living in cold climates . I can only purchase them at a very small size and could raise them in a tank in cooler temperatures as I have heard the temperature they are raised in can influence their ability to withstand cold temperatures. I’d appreciate any advice/ help.

They can withstand cold temps, and are found in the wild in the US Midwest. It gets quite cold in the Midwest, but I lack the knowledge of the UK's climate to be able to speculate as to whether or not they'd thrive there. I imagine they'd be fine, but don't hold me to that lol

In the winter the temperature gets to about -4 to -5

Going back to the raising in cooler temperatures how would you recommend doing this?
