I picked up a juruense cat a few months ago. It is currently being kept seperate from my peacocks to grow until it can live peacefully with them. The cat has reached about 9 inches in length (I'll add a pic) and my largest cichla is 10.5 in long. I'm pretty concerned because the catfish is a more cylindrical shaped fish and therefore easier for a peacock to swallow vs a taller fish like another peacock for example but I'm really dying to get them into 1 tank together. I raised the cichla from 2 inches feeding only pellets and frozen. What are your thoughts on the compatibility of these fish now, and/or how long the juruense should be before adding safely?

I'll try to get decent pictures of the fish in question despite the constant begging for food when I'm near the tank. Their exact lengths are posted above.

The general rule of thumb is, If it can fit in the fishes mouth then it could become food. Judging by the picture the cat doesn’t look too small.

Thanks for the reply! I guess my main concern is that the peacocks mouth could fit around the cats head (obviously the cat is way to long to swallow right away). That being said, maybe I'll try to introduce this weekend while I have time to sit and watch.
