Agreed, that is poo around something.

OP, change out the substrate to something smaller like #22 mesh size sand to prevent it from accidentally swalling gravel.

Hows the Senegal doing?

Its eating. Swimming normal. Lays by the thing that was expelled. The thing has opened and looks to be a shell of some sort. I’ll take a pic tonight.

If 40 years of movies have taught me anything, this is either just a funny looking poop, or a horde of alien parasites are about to hatch and infest and kill us all.
