Electric Blue Jack Dempsey bad immunity?

I’ve heard about EBJDs having bad immune system and often dying before reaching adulthood and I have two juveniles swimming around happily with three fromtosa juveniles and three mollys.... How can I prevent EBJD health issues?

I have one ebjd just over a year now so far so good my one is a real brute gave my firemouth who is bigger a good beating the other day I had to move the fire mouth . Keep your water clean and make sure they don't get stressed and hope for the best .

Do EBJDs not get bigger than an adult firemouth for over a year? How much growth rate can I expect?

my ebjd grew quite fast got to about 4 inches in say 8-9 months and that was in a small 88 lt grow out tank I fed twice a day 50% weekly water changes he is now in a bigger tank and growth rate has slowed I think they get to about 8 inches my fire mouth is fully grown my ebjd is only a year old they don't grow as big as a regular jd and if you have a female will be a bit smaller than the male.

How's your EBJD now? How much has it grown? And for how much did you buy it?

Well it died a year later stopped eating found it dead so it lived for about 2 years

I got one when it was about 1.5in

I kept him till he was about 4in

Then he went to a fellow MFKer that used him in his platinum breeding project. He lived around 4 years give or take, and grew out to about 10in.

Took me about 2 years to grow one out from a 1.5 inch baby to 9 inch male. Grew him out in a 75g and into a 90g. Grew out 3 and rehomed with any signs of aggression until I had one
