Hello. After a quite a while of growing some fish out and taking a bit of a break I’m almost ready to rescape my 96x30x24, 300. It’s been a dirted, planted tank for many years and will transition to a sand bottom hardscape only. I’ve always stocked tanks with a pair here, a trio there, etc. this time I want to go for more of a species theme. I’ve grown out 12 geophagus sveni and 12 manacapuru red back scalare from Jeff Rapps since early last year. That said, I think the tank is going to be kind of under stocked with these numbers. I like the geos on the bottom and the angels in the middle/upper column but what would complement them? Add more sveni? Tough to find the red backs so try to mix in Altums? Larger tetras? What does everyone think?

Maybe some active large tetras for your setup. A large group of redfin argenteus tetras would fit the bill. Larger tetras but not quite silver dollar size. Hang together at all times. I have a group of nine currently.

They used to be pretty uncommon, but ive seen them for sale by various vendors recently. I think tuic is selling them currently.

its 8 feet. Could always grab a shrt body asian or austrailian arowana (not south or central amer as silvers grow long) Get a red or jardini or maybe a black?

EDIT: u want south american fish. Then forget the arowanas as silvers are to big and stay to discus, angelfish, catfish, BG knifefish, cichlids
