so i woke up this morning and found the baby guppy alive and swimming around. so am i all clear to add important fish?

NO! Cycling a tank can vary depending on how it's done. I don't do fish in cycling as it can be harmful to the fish and just using one or two small fish in a 125G tank won't really do anything.

There are a number of various methods to properly cycle an aquarium such as fishless (using ammonia), seeded media or filter from another aquarium, bottled bacteria products, etc.

Aren't cycling their tank tho. They were testing to see if the drift wood they brought home and put into the tank was fish safe. And if the fish has been alive for almost 2 days in a tank with a potential poisonous piece of wood I would say it's pretty safe to say it is not toxic. The only reason they thought that they should test the water was to see if it was toxic or not, but as I had already explained to them, poisonous material will not show up on water testing kits.

Yes, as long as the tank is fully cycled and the fish is still alive despite being in with a potentially poisonous piece of wood I would say it's are to start add more fish to the tank. Now just keep in mind that you want to start off by only adding a handful every few days as to not over load the bioload system.
