In lake turkana senegal bichirs and bichir bichir both grow larger than in other places for reasons we do not know yet.

That’s a rough explanation from someone that is not as well versed in them as others.

The bichir has arrived. Funny thing is I waited almost 2 hours in my garage for it to come then in the 10 minutes I go inside to do something it gets delivered. A thread dedicated to the turkana is soon to come.

He can be difficult to reach if you've never done business with him before but he's a lot easier to contact now compared to many years ago. I've been getting bichirs from him since 2009 or so.

Yeah they don't come around that often. Last year was probably the first time they were available for most hobbyist. I think Toyin only had 3 batches since last year. He sends them all to Asia. I got one from his last batch (this year). Your piece probably came from the 2nd batch (last year)
