Right on! I’m gonna look into this a bit more, What’s your recommendations on tank mates if I got with a metraclima chilumba centered tank? I’m sure a maingano or two would be fine, maybe some yellow labs?

Do you think I could get away with 3 males and 9 females in the 125, with three separate rock groups separated by open sand.... and maybe some yellow labs to act as buffer bodies? Lol

I predict there would be harassment (death) with 3 male Metriaclima...or best case scenario they would live but sub-dominant males would not color well or at all.

If you want to build around this aggressive species I would go back to three in the 72" tank with 1m:7f Fainzilberi, maingano and labs.

Tropheop species are also a nice looking group that are supposed to be pretty aggressive. You dont see them in alot of tanks.

These guys are very interesting as not only the males are good looking but the females are a bright attractive yellow instead of dark and drab. Trying to track down some but not having any luck. Have any idea where I might find some??

IMO, only one Zebra Chilumba per tank. The one I keep dominates the entire 120 gal. tank, which includes Red & Blue Zebras, Kenyi, Socolofi as well as various predator Haps & Peacocks. One is all you need, very awsome Mbuna.

Good input. Do you have the maison reef or Luwino? Trying to decide between them as we speak
