Recently I obtained a group of 11 F1 Rio Atabapo Pterophyllum Altums . The range in size from around 5 - 7 inches (top to bottom) possibly with majority being 6-7 inches top to bottom.
They are currently in a 6x2x2 ft (180G) with 40G sump blackwater aquarium with water parameters being ph: 6.5, kH 2-3, gH 4 and temperature 84.5 F.

I wanted to ask for any opinions for small tank mates that I could keep with them? I know that the high temperature where these fish come from in the wild makes finding other species that will thrive with them hard and very limiting. I would prefer species that also occur in the Rio Atabapo along side with the P. Altum in nature.

So far I have an idea of a school of Rummy nose tetras. I am not set on this species of tetra as of yet. I am also looking for a bottom dweller and know that many species of Corydoras need cooler water temperatures and same with Plecos but I wanted to see if anyone knew of species that could work well in this setup with the P. Altum. If anyone has any suggestions of species / other fish that don't get too large and could work please let me know.

Here is my Altum setup. These are wild Orinoco and I have 10 me them in here with 10 clown loaches. I also have 3 pimelodus ornatus cats. I have had this combo for 2 years plus. I run my tank temp at 80 degrees.

Two LFS in my area are currently carrying Altums.
Wow. You are lucky. You even have a couple to choose from. In Southern WI, nothing that I know of. I had to have mine shipped from FL.
